I am so excited to share this with you!!!! I hope you enjoy the article half as much as I do. This is so big for me. Truly, this is a life changer. Being in Forest and Bluff, I believe, is what gave me the courage to drop my anonymity. I also think that in some woo-woo kind of way that this article is what opened things for me to get the gig with Psychology Today. I cannot thank Eileen, at Forest and Bluff, enough for being so very nice to me. Her review of my blog could not be more glowing. Thank you, Eileen—you made my year!!!
Here is the link to the article. If you can’t open a PDF file I don’t have another way of getting the article to you, sorry.

If you haven’t read my Rudolph piece please do. You don’t want to miss my first attempt at writing a Christmas carol. If I keep up this Christmas carol rewriting I might do a Christmas album next year( If you have you have ever heard my singing voice, you know what a joke that is).

Very nice. Bonny photo of you too!
Have a good weekend…….
Thanks, Alistair! You too.:-)
Congratulations La Belle…..Such a fabulous article and you look totally gorgeous…..I am so happy for you and feel very fortunate that I have been reading your blog pretty much from the beginning….I don’t always comment but you know I am here…Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy this moment……xv
PS….Love your necklaces!
I feel honored that you read my blog. You are a STAR. It means so much to me that you have been with me for so long. Thank you!!
p.s. The necklaces were an accident. I put them all on and was going to ask the stylist which one to wear. She told me that they ALL worked. And she was right. They did.xo
Congratulations, it’s a fabulous article. But then YOU are fabulous too. xx
You are a fabulous friend!xo
I’ve printed it out on an A3 sized paper! Congratulations, love! You look as beautiful as ever.
Yeay, one step closer to home!!!
Thank you, gorgeous! So happy I could get this PDF file to share with you.
Congratulations! As someone with a love/but mostly hate relationship with LA, and a hate, but mostly love relationship to therapy, I greatly admire your writing.
I am seriously honoured to see you here. It means so much to me that you enjoy my blog. Truly. You made my day. ( I didn’t know you read me:-).
You look so great! And the article is wonderful, clever and well-written. I wish I could ever be as good at writing and inspiring as you are.
Isn’t it clever? I love how she wrote the piece.
Thank you! I have to say that I think that anyone who writes authentically and honestly is inspiring. You do that!
Ohhh I am so glad I am not a psychologist!
Until now I didn’t know what a depressing, sad and miserable story this was!
What am I going to give the kids to watch this Christmas?
BTW I did love it but I think I might continue to be shallow and unthinking as I watch Christmas films!!
Keep it all coming xx
LOL! yeah, as a therapist, I tend to see the trauma/drama in almost everything. That said, I like doing it. But, it isn’t for everyone. Hope I didn’t ruin Rudolph for you.;-)
Yes, I love it,Wonderful article, and also, I have figured out why your mother doesn’t “like” your hair. It is so beautiful that she is insanely jealous. I absolutely love it. I would give anything for my hair to look that lovely. You look amazing too! I am so happy for you!
Fantastic profile and very well-written, capturing the essence of the blog. And the Rudolph article amused me (as well as made me think that perhaps the boy can stay away from that for another year, fairy tales as preparation for the pains of life be damned — or, at the very least, we’ll go with the classic, more violent ones that come in books).
Elieen did an amazing job. It couldn’t have been better. I am thrilled!
And thanks for checking out my Rudolph piece. Yeah, I imagine if I had young children I might keep them away from Rudolph for a while too. Either that or I would do a lot of pre and post watching talking.
Very good article. Classy, just like you! The picture is so pretty and I noticed you wearing those chic gray stockings. Love them. I wish you would repost ‘things to never say to CNBC’ because I missed that one. Keep up with the awesomeness.
Ah, you always say the nicest things! Yes, they are my beloved Donna Karan stocking. I LOVE them. And I am glad you found the 16 things article. I do think that a piece needs to be written about the stings to never say to say someone who has lost a loved one.
Found the ‘things never to say’ article on the sidebar. You did a great job on this and I think some of the points cross over to other kinds of loss. After my mother died people actually said, God wanted her with him. Well I wanted to say screw God I want her with me!! Tracey I am truly sorry for your loss.
Belette, this is a lovely article, although not a surprise to those of us who either knew or intuited all these good things about you from your writing. But my goodness, you are so very cute in that photo! Not that that should be a surprise, but how can you be so cute and so often be self-deprecating . . . big hugs of congratulation! now onward to more fame, I’m quite sure.
LOL! Cute and self-deprecating! I love it. My self-concept is not as cute as you perceive me to be. I appreciate your generous belief in me. Thank you!!!!!!
Such a great and thorough description of your blog– I’m sure it will attract more readers!
Isn’t it a great piece? I am so pleased!
Way. To. Go.
It’s outstanding, and the picture is faboo! The story seems to very much capture your essence, no? You know how tickled I am for you (as is The Consort), and love-love-love the good things going on in your life.
Sending you big hugs and lots of smiles,
tp
It is such a perfect and glowing depiction of me and my blog. In a way my blog is about a lot of things and I have varied interests and topics and I am amazed how she got them all in one piece. I am so grateful to her for this wonderful portrait.
Thanks so much for sharing in my happiness.xox
After Eddie Van Halen and Ozzie Newsome, you might be the third most famous person I’ve met. Extra groovy article & quite the lovely photo. They might want to sport more Red for next year’s Xmas album, though.
Who is Ozzie Newsome? Are you sure I am not second to Eddie?;-) Thanks, Randal. I am thrilled with the article and I am grateful to a skilled photographer for making me look so photogenic.
Want to write a piece for my Christmas album? I am open to doing a compilation album.
OK, I’m going to read the article, but first I have to say that you are totally GORGEOUS!!!
You are too kind to me—and I love you for it.
You look absolutely RADIANT in that photo, my dear! And that article is just stellar. So glad you’re pleased with it.
Thanks, Sally! I am extremely pleased.
What a spectacular article about your WONDERFUL blog. The praise is well deserved! And you look AMAZING! You are beautiful inside and out. Congratulations on all your success. And thank you for being there for us.
Thanks so much, RL! I still haven’t seen an actual magazine. When I do I think that the shock of all this goodness will really hit me. You, dear RL, could not be sweeter. Thank you for being here. And thank you for your blog!
I loved it and I love your smile in that picture! You look very beautiful, and sweet and smart…all the things we know you are by reading your blog!
I am blushing. Thank you!
p.s. I thought that the smile was too big and that I didn’t look serious enough. Glad you see things differently!;-)
Very nicely done – intelligent article and great photo! What a lovely recognition.
MJ, thanks! It is the highlight of my year.:-)
You’re even cuter in person
.
I love the article, it captures everything I felt when I first started reading your fabulous blog and blabbing about you to everyone I know.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
You know how to make a weasel feel good.;-)
I love the article too. I do wish I was home to bask in the micro-moment of fame. Thank you!
wonderful article!! congrats! (and your pictured turned out gorgeous.)
The article and the photo couldn’t have turned out better. I was worried for no reason( as is often the case;-)
That was a very nice article and a lovely photograph of you too. I wonder if Lily was having her nails done that day and couldn’t appear?
I’m delighted all is well and getting better.
Yes, Lily wasn’t available. She was off lunching with her agent and then had an afternoon at the spa. She is a busy girl. She wasn’t even available to comment for the article.
Things are getting better and better. Thanks, Susan.:-)
Fabulous article and you look as gorgeous in that picture as you do in person! I’m so glad your wonderful writing is getting the recognition it deserves.
For sure you are being too kind! The hair/makeup/lighting and air brushing made me look MUCH better than I do in life. And I thank you for your support and encouragement about my writing. I am so grateful to you for all of the lovely people you have sent me from your blog. You have been a big support to me and I appreciate it.
Yeah…cheers…so excited…printing the article asap and reading and enjoying during the weekend…I did read the Rudolph piece and loved it! xoxoxo

A bientôt.
WOW! That is SO very exciting
… congrats!!! And you look MAHHHVALUUS
Thank you, darling!!!:-)
Fanf’ingfantastic foto, ma chère! You look genuinely delighted. I love the colors of your costume, too! Have to zoom the .PDF before I can enjoy the article.
BTW:
“A child too, can never grasp the fact that the same mother who cooks so well, is so concerned about his cough, and helps so kindly with his homework, in some circumstance has no more feeling than a wall of his hidden inner world.”
–Alice Miller
Merci, mon amie! My friend, Elizabeth, helped me with that outfit. She has a great eye.
That Alice Miller *really* knewall there is to know about narcissists. Didn’t she?
That was a great article, and congratulations again on your appearance in the magazine!
Thanks for helping me get camera ready!:-)
You are fabulous! Great pic and thanks for the birthday message. xxooxx
You are too kind! Thank you!xoxo
Congratulations and thank you for posting this great article. You do look fabulous and I am so glad to hear of your success. For me, your writing has brought back an unending string of memories of Lake Bluff, as it is a place that I pine for.
It is a magical place worthy of pining for. Thanks, dear Penny! So glad you enjoyed the article. It is a real honor for me to be in that magazine. It feels like a dream come true.
This calls for new shoes! Or something. Go, Weasel Friend!
I like how you think, Tiger-friend!:-)
I agree with Fireblossom — new shoes all around. It’s great to see the piece, and great to feel your happiness about it. After being in Chicago for 3 days — even in 20 degree weather — I understand better than ever your longing for the area. It has such an amazing feel to it.
It is such a special place. I miss it so. So glad you enjoyed your time there. Wish I could have been there and taken you to lunch—and gone shoe shopping!;-)
Great article, and out of Anonymity, where you certainly don’t belong!
Thanks, Corine!:-)
And I love those tights:). Hi gorgeous!
